Microcrystalline Cellulose is a purified, partly depolymerised cellulose with shorter, crystalline polymer chains. Its strong binding performance make MCC one of the most commonly used fillers and binders in drug formulations.The product is manufactured by controlled partial hydrolysis of high purity wood pulp, followed by purification and drying. MCC is widely used in diverse pharmaceutical processes, like wet granulation, dry granulation or direct compression.
